Spring is Here in the Bower

Less than two weeks until opening day at the Farmer’s Market, and I realize my hand-dyed stock is mostly in rich autumn & winter colors. In honor of Spring and first day at the market being the day before Mother’s Day, I’m going to go into the studio and dye up a storm tonight!

Welcome to Bower Power

Hello and welcome to the Bower Blog! I am a decades-long painter who got the ribbon flower making bug a little over a year ago, and have, much to my own surprise, become the proprietor of the micro business Bower Power.

Bower Power made it’s public debut in May 2010 at the Easton Farmer’s Market, in the ACE (Arts Community of Easton) tent. Aside from the obvious benefits of actually selling work via the ACE tent at the Farmer’s Market, I’ve been amazed at what a great experience it’s been to watch and listen to people respond to my work. With the Farmer’s Market coming to a close for this year, I decided to start this blog as a way of extending-and expanding-that experience of interacting with all those who take an interest in my work. Welcome to Bower Blog!

Bower power

According to Oxford’s dictionary, a Bower is “…a pleasant shady place under trees or climbing plants in a garden or wood.”

Bower Power makes artist designed, exquisite handmade ribbonflower accesories and decor featuring silk hand dyed by the artist, locally made ribbon, and other carefully selected materials, some of them vintage.
